Join us for a night of true West End glitz, as Richard Shelton dons Sinatra’s tuxedo and pulls out some of the best Rat-Pack numbers, backed by the brilliant Denmark Street Big Band.
Richard Shelton (Emmerdale, Rat Pack Confidential) has performed on the greatest international stages, including The Coliseum in London and Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club; and regularly features on BBC Radio. His latest album ‘An Englishman in Love, In L.A.’ was recorded in Frank Sinatra’s studio B at Capitol Studios, L.A., with some of Sinatra’s musicians, using Sinatra’s microphone. He even wears Sinatra’s tuxedo in performance, so this is no ‘cheap imitation’ –Richard Shelton is Sinatra!
The Denmark Street Big Band, founded by Musical Director and band leader Paul Burch, creates the same kind of energy, excitement and style as the great big bands of the past. Paul has hand-picked musicians with impeccable reputations and experience, including friends from his time playing with The Coldstream Guards and on-board luxury cruise-liners. The Denmark Street Big Band have been the resident Big Band for the Royal Opera House’s New Year Celebrations since 2013; and it’s members have performed with some of the biggest names in West End Musicals.
“Shelton as Sinatra is astounding. Incredible vocals, a real class act and fascinating to watch. And if you close your eyes ‘Ol Blue Eyes’ lives again in that moment. Truly remarkable.” Catherine Françoise, MusicalTheatreReview.com
