"Behind every successful man is a strong woman"

Written and performed by Beth Burrows
Directed by Mark Giesser

Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra dominated the stage and screen in the mid 20th century. But beside and behind these golden gentlemen were a plethora of powerful women who enabled their success. From irreplaceable dance partners to influential lovers, Fred, Gene and Frank did not do it alone.

OFFIE-nominee Beth Burrows celebrates the men’s careers by performing the songs that made them shine and sharing the inside scoop on the stories that swirled around them, whilst bringing the women out of the shadows and into the spotlight.

Georgia & The Vintage Youth

Georgia & The Vintage Youth

Georgia is fast emerging as one of London’s brightest up and coming young artists.  Compared to the late Amy Winehouse and Paloma Faith, Georgia performs both in the UK and internationally.

Her retro jazz/swing style of music is both vintage and fresh, hence the name of the band. BBC Introducing Essex have taken a keen interest in Georgia following her Brentwood Festival performance supporting ‘Squeeze’. Georgia and her band now gig regularly all over the UK and are being played regularly on BBC Radio. Georgia's appearance on Vintage TV (Virgin 343, Sky 369, Freeview 82) for their Christmas sessions special Dec 2017 was truly memorable and a new compilation EP titled 'Remember Brick Lane' has attracted fans in Germany, Australia, Japan, New, Zealand and America with 'Glory' (a track from that EP) being nominated record of the week by BBC Cornwall.

They think that with a little grooming he might pass muster – as long as he agrees to break up with his equally cockney girlfriend Sally Smith. “Not on your Nellie”, says Bill. So Sally has to secretly go to finishing school. But will it finish her off? This wonderful Olivier award winning musical contains the great British classics “Leaning On A Lamppost”, “The Sun Has Got His Hat On”, and “The Lambeth Walk”.
